1. Information we collect

We collect only the information needed to operate Recipe Thyme. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or to track you across other apps or websites.

Information you provide

  • Account information: email address, display name, and username when you create an account.
  • Profile photo (optional): if you choose to add one. Your profile photo is stored on your device.
  • Recipe activity: recipes you save, your star ratings, and any written reviews and review photos you add. This content is private to your account.

Information collected automatically

  • App settings and preferences (e.g. onboarding state, filters) stored locally on your device.
  • Recipe Thyme does not include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs and does not collect device identifiers for tracking.

Information we do not collect

  • We do not collect precise location, contacts, health data, or financial data.
  • The App contains no in-app purchases.

2. How we use your information

  • To create and maintain your account.
  • To sync your saved recipes, ratings, reviews, and custom recipe books across your devices.
  • To provide personalized recipe recommendations based on your in-app activity.
  • To respond to support requests and enforce our Terms of Service.

3. How your information is stored and shared

  • Account data and your saved content are stored using Supabase, our backend and database provider, acting as our data processor. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and protected by row-level security so that you can only access your own data.
  • We do not share your personal information with third parties except:
    • service providers who process data on our behalf (e.g. Supabase);
    • where required by law, or to protect our rights and the safety of users.

4. Recipe content from third parties

Recipe Thyme displays recipe previews (title, image, summary, and selected ingredients) indexed from publicly available recipe websites and their RSS feeds. Full instructions remain on, and we link you back to, the original publisher's website. We attribute each recipe to its source. If you are a content owner and wish to request removal, contact support@recipethymeapp.com.

5. Your choices and rights

  • Account deletion: You can permanently delete your account and associated data at any time from Profile → Delete Account in the App. Deletion is immediate and irreversible.
  • Access/Update: You can edit your display name, username, and profile photo in the App.
  • Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (e.g. access, correction, deletion, portability) under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA. To exercise these rights, contact support@recipethymeapp.com.

6. Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your personal data is deleted from our systems.

7. Children's privacy

Recipe Thyme is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
